How Can I Assist the Troop?
Brownie Troop 570 Troop Committees Troop committees are an important part of Girl Scouting and running a Troop. We need the help of every parent to assist us in making this troop run smoothly. What part can you play? Our main objectives as leaders is in teaching and helping your children grow into beautiful young ladies who possess strong values, self worth and assist them to build strong character and skills needed for success in the real world. We need to focus and devote our attention to the Brownie Girl Scouts! Therefore, we need your help in performing a few simple tasks necessary for the function of our troop.

Below are the committee manager positions and other important jobs we need filled. We thank you in advance for your assistance in signing below for those tasks you can assist with. We ask that you please sign up for at least one committee task.
Troop Committee Manager-- Oversees all the troop committee managers and reports to leader as necessary
All committee managers will report to and update Troop Committee Manager on a regular basis and with any questions.
Cookie Manager- (needs to register as an Adult Girl Scout member and have a background check completed by council.)
- Job description will be given. Attends Mandatory Cookie meeting in November with leaders. Manages the cookie sale. Orders cookies, distributes cookies and monitors booth sales and incoming profits from sales.
- Makes calls as needed and directed by Leaders. Calls to girls, scheduling field trips, scheduling guest speakers, etc.
- Oversees all troop funds, makes deposits as needed into troop account, writes troop checks with second authorized signature when necessary, complete annual financial report to council in June.
- Assists in decision making with girls over types of crafts to be completed throughout the year. Makes out “craft” wish lists as needed to acquire craft supplies. May occasionally have to buy crafts necessary within the budget. Works with Leaders on the “special monthly holiday” craft and obtaining necessary supplies. Obtains appropriate supplies for crafts needed to earn Try-it badges.
- Makes out a rotational snack schedule monthly and submits to leader by the end of the month, starting the end of September. Each girl to be assigned to snack schedule. Places reminder on the snack schedule to bring snack and juice boxes/bags, any paper or plastic ware (if needed) and any allergies of the girls.
- Plans and schedules field trips for the year with direction and assistance from Troop Committee manager and leaders. Makes sure all permission slips are completed and returned to Leader a week prior to trips. Works with Driver Manager in planning trips and travel arrangements.
- Oversees all Drivers. Makes sure all credentials are current. Makes sure all driver forms and necessary info is completed prior to trips. Makes sure all appropriate paperwork is with each driver as required. Makes sure Travel file and first aid kit are taken on each trip. Works with Field Trip manager in planning trips and travel arrangements.
- Multiple drivers maybe needed for transporting Brownies to events and field trips. Each driver is responsible for the “necessary” paperwork for each girl in their vehicle. Must have current drivers license, vehicle registration and vehicle insurance. Drivers must have filled out all the above information on the council trip request sheet.
- Assist leaders with Try-it badges. Assists the girls in the required tasks to complete the try-it badges.
- Assist with ordering/purchasing Try-it badges as needed.
