Meeting Schedule and Tentative Plans for the year

Parents Registration and Information Night is scheduled for Wednesday September 17^th, 2008. Our 1^st official Brownie Troop Meeting will start Wednesday September 24th, 2008 and run through May 27th, 2009. They will be held every Wednesday from 6-7:30pm at Beaver Lodge in Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, unless specified otherwise (Parties and field trips). A tentative calendar schedule will be as follows but subject to change:

Sept. 17th - Parents information and registration night
Sept. 24^th- Introduction to Brownie Troop 570 and meeting procedures, initial discussion on the first try-it's we will be working on and start learning the GS Ways.
October 1st- The girls will start brainstorming on things they are interested in doing, trips they might want to take and which additional try-it's they want to work on. We will begin working on the Manners and People are Talking Try-it's, continue getting to know each other and learning meeting procedures. 1^st payment of Membership Dues required.
Oct. 4- Tentative Trip to Millers Apple Orchard. More info to follow. Times to be determined after confirmation.
October 8th- Finish Manners Try-it and start Working it out Try-it. Reinforce behaviors chart.
October 15^th,22nd- Regular meeting with possible guest speakers
October 29^th- Halloween Party from 6-8pm(in place of regular meeting)
November 5^th- Regular meeting- plan and practice for Investiture Ceremony
November 12^th- Investiture/Rededication Ceremony- a special Girl Scouting Ceremony welcoming and pining new Girl Scouts and rededicating current Girl Scouts- A special event for the whole family to enjoy so please plan to attend and bring loved ones and the CAMERAS!
November 19^th- Field trip to WLE indoor pool.
NO MEETING on November 26^th due to Thanksgiving
December 3rd, December 10^th- Regular meetings
December 17^th- Christmas Party 6-8pm (in place of regular meeting) with crafts, snacks and games.
NO MEETING on December 24^th and December 31^st due to Christmas Holiday Break
January 7^th, 2009- Court of Awards Ceremony- Girls will receive their try-it's they have earned this far during this special ceremony. Parents will receive information and details regarding the Annual Cookie Sale.
January 14th, 21st- regular meetings
January 16^th- Cookie Sales start- more info to follow as the time nears- each girl/parent will be responsible for signing up for one- 2 hour time slot for our Cookie Booth Sales. Each girl will earn "cookie credit" based on sales during their time slots.
January 28^th-Field Trip-Cooking/Dinner Night 4:30pm-7:30pm @ Miss Cheryl's house. Final Membership Dues Payment due.
February 4^th- Regular Meeting
February 11th- Valentine's Day Party (in place of regular meeting.)
February 18th- Thinking Day Celebration- WAGGGS Pin dedication Ceremony- Girls will pinned with their World Trefoil Pin
February 25^th-Field Trip- Game Night @ Miss Cheryl's house 5:30pm-7:30pm
March 4th- Regular meetings
March 11^th- GS Birthday Celebration Party
March 18^th, March 25^th- Regular meetings
April 1^st- Regular meeting
April 8^th- Easter Party(in place of regular meeting)
April 15^th, April 22^nd- Regular meetings
April 29^th- Field Trip- Hiking with Earth and Science Try-it activities- Promise land State Park- 4-7:30pm
May 6^th- Mom and Me Potluck Dinner Night 5:30pm-7:30pm (in place of the regular meeting)
May 13^th- Field Trip- Paupack Park- 5:30pm-7:30pm
May 20^th- Me and My Guy Night- 5:30pm-7:30pm (in place of regular meeting)
May 27^th-Last official meeting- End of Year Picnic Bash with Court of Awards Ceremony and Bridging Ceremony 5-8pm. The Bridging Ceremony is a special Ceremony for those who will "fly-up" to the junior level of Girl Scouting and the Court of Awards Ceremony takes place for the girls to receive the try-it's they have earned. Then socialization and picnic with all families.
June 5-7^th Camping Adventure at WLE Campgrounds.

One summer fun activity will be planned and scheduled by the girls.

Scheduled meeting dates are tentative at this time. Weekly activities may change depending on try-its being earned, field trips planned, guest speakers and the "monthly" holiday craft.

A monthly newsletter will be made available the first meeting of the month with reminders, updates and any changes for the month. Newsletters can be read on our troop website, at meetings on the poster board and will be emailed. Written copies are available only by request. First newsletter will be sent home in October. Please check newsletters each month for important info.
